The Shassin are humankin and appear to be pale humans. The Shassin are the 'Water Folk' of Darkus Thel, being water breathers as well as air breathers. They feel most at home beneath the water, but can survive quite well in most surface climates.

The Shassin are a charismatic species, but their greatest advantages are their half-immunity to cold and their ability to live in water or on land.
